What services do you offer?

At Tricolored Heron Agency, we offer a wide range of services to meet your insurance needs. We can help you consider longevity insurance, long term care insurance, disability insurance, and umbrella personal liability insurance.

Why would I want longevity insurance?

While longevity is generally a good thing and most of us would be happy to live to 100 or longer, we want our financial futures to be bright even if we live to 120. Trading a lump sum of money for a longevity annuity can help ensure that we have income — above and beyond Social Security — for life.

Why would I want long term care insurance?

While many people still receive long term care in their old age even if they do not have long term care insurance, this can have a significant impact on their families, their legacies, and their ability to choose to receive how and where they wish to receive long term care.

Why would I want disability insurance?

Social Security disability benefits can be very difficult to claim when you need them, with even people who are severely disabled often having to hire lawyers. If you don’t have enough work credits to qualify for SSDI, you will have to spend down most of your assets before you can qualify for SSI. Additionally, Social Security uses the “any occupation” definition of disability, meaning even if you are a surgeon and lose the ability to perform surgery due to a hand tremor, you would not be able to claim SSDI or SSI on that basis, since there are many other occupations that can be done with hand tremors. This can be devastating for surgeons and other professionals likely to carry significant student debt. Some private insurance policies available to surgeons and other professionals offer an “own occupation” definition of disability, meaning they can pay out in the example of a surgeon no longer able to perform surgery due to a hand tremor.
